Hello, I downloaded the 2 RC2 ISO's from: http://archive.progeny.com/progeny/images/rc2/ they are progeny-rc2-i386-1.iso and progeny-rc2-i386-2.iso. Anyways, once they were downloaded I opened up nero, went to burn image, found the ISO, checked "close cd" then burned it, I got an error about the filesystem. Then I did a testburn with fireburner and found I was getting the error when it tried to close the cd/session, cant remember... so I tried burning the ISO with fireburner but not closing the session, now i get an error "Incorrect Function" when I try to access the CD in Windows. I can use WinImage and open the ISO and see all the files. I have burned Redhat 7.1 beta's ISO's perfect along with Mandrake and countless other ISO's perfect.. does anyone know the problem? Has anyone had sucess in burning these 2 ISO's? If so, how, what software etc.? I wanted to try Progeny because it is Debian based, and I'm running the Redhat 7.1 beta "wolverine" now but I can't mount my NTFS partition and I can't figure out how to brighten my screen (not using physical monitor controls or xgamma. I have tried xvidtune, when i click appy it brightens it but then when i restart x its dim again. i'm using the same xvidtune settings in my XF86Config and XF86Config-4 but i just cant get it bright!). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I burnt them without any problems using cdrecord 1.9. Can't you use your RH to burn them? People always seem to have troubles with iso in windows... Check the md5sums to make sure the isos aren't corrupt. You can find them on the progeny website.

this might sound like a dumb questions, but how do you check the md5 sums? I have them but how do you check them to the file? Thanks.

Heh, use the md5sum command ;). Everything you need to know should be in the docs :)

is there anyone of doing it in Windows? Any software that will do it? I don't want to have to move 650+ MB over my 10Mbps network :(

And the NHF's to the rescue again.

There just happens to be one on MD5 right here (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/security/md5.html) in the Security section.
