suse 9.0--can't connect to internet
a few days ago installed suse 9.0 pro on my computer ( pt4. 1.8 GHz , win xp pro / suse 9.0 pro, wincomm 56k v92 dial-up modem). it's my first contact to linux and i'm not a tech. until now i didn't find anyone to help me with my problem.
the installation process ran without any problems. it detected my internal dial-up modem (56k,V92).i tried to configure it but here it started with problems. it ask me which country i live in. but there are only about 8 countries in europe, the us and canada. but i live in asia.so i installed a new isp.the test to access the internet failed. i can hear the dial-up tone but it doesn't connect.
found this in the log

pppd (0): sending:ATDT 029009600
pppd (0):waiting for carrier
pppd (0):NO CARRIER

02 is the aera code and 9009600 is the phone number of the isp here.

i hope you can help.and don't forget i'm not a tech. i still have more questions but the internet is the most important now.
thanks a lot.
