I have two questions about xmms:

1. Is there a plugin which let it support .avi-files? Also, is there a plugin which let it play windows .wma-files? I suppose not, so is there anyone who knows with which program i can convert .wma's to .mp3's? This program may be a linux or a windows program.

2. How can i resize the playlist? I know it's possible, i just saw a screenshot (http://members.tripod.co.uk/mekanoid/bsdshot.jpg) where it's a huge playlist, though i have no idea how to do so.

TIA

Yup, there is an avi-plugin. It's called avi-xmms (http://www.xmms.org/plugins_search.html?mode=search&query=avi-xmms)

I don't know about wma files, though

Uhmm, you just move the mouse to the lower right-hand corner of the playlist window and drag it as large as you want...

heh.

I had to see someone resize winamp on windows before I figured out how to resize xmms.

A lot of xmms skins don't make that obvious.

heh, i'll be honest, i never tested it cause for me it was obvious that that isn't possible :/
when i saw that screenshot, i really was surprised :)

thanks for the plugin! (now, when i have .avi-files, i put them on my windows partition, reboot under windows, doubleclick on the .avi, go to file -> save as and save it as a .mpeg :/
though, cause my kazaa blew up my windows internet, it sometimes needs a codec, but i can't connect to the m$-site to download that codec
so now, this will all be ALOT easyer!

maybe anyone else an idea for the .wma's?

On a slightly related note. You might want to check out avifile-player. I use it to play video avi files and it works pretty good.

i prefer to use one program for everything, and also, when i want to install a .rpm, i almost always have the error "segmentation fault", and compiling from source almost never works :/
i'll certainly look at it if i have complaints about that plugin, but currently installing plugins never gave me a problem, so i'll look for that first :)
i've also heard that "aviplay" & "xmmp" plays avi's

please anyone could help me with those .wma's?
