monitoring network usage

I'm sure theres a program out there that i can install on my server to monitor the amount of network traffic that goes through it. I welcome your suggestions and experience.

In almost any distro you can find a text-based program called 'netwatch'. It shows you the network usage. Use 'netwatch --help' for the options.

There are literally hundreds of network monitoring programs out there. How about you do a search at freshmeat.net, sourceforge.net or google.com/linux
