Ok, well I found out that in the 2.4.x series they switched from rtl8139 to the 8139too, which is alright because my NIC still works, Yippie.

The only problem is when I've attempted to goto runlevel 1 for upgrades(in slackware), I've gotten the message "eth0: unable to signal thread" and it happens every time, I either switch to runlevel 1 or shutdown/reboot. So I figure it's unable to kill the process(?) somehow.

Basically what I want to know is, if this is a bug, who do I report it to? is there an easy way to fix it?

I've read some of the online docs, but nothing is mentioned about a fix for this, or anything of the sort, so all help would be greatly appreciated.
