wireless interface won't get ip

I've spent the last day looking up how to get my wireless card working and now it does show up on my access point. The problem is, that when I plug in a cable to the AP and do 'dhcpcd eth1' it gets an ip rather quickly. When I unplug the cable, 'ifconfig eth1 down' and 'ifconfig eth0 up,' 'dhcpcd eth0' just times out. resolv.conf looks the same as it does w/ eth1. Can somebody help me out? This is really frustrating me.

Arggh!!! Nevermind, I was arrogant and figured I could start w/ wep encryption enabled. Everything showed up fine, but the 3rd to last char in the key was wrong so dhcpcd didn't shake hands. Wow, I got really pissed when it wasn't working too.
