Hey all,

I was wondering, where do I point apt to pick up the KDE2.1 debs? I tried telling it to go to: http://ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/mirrors/kde/stable/2.1/distribution/deb/di sts/potato/main/binary-i386/ (http://ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/mirrors/kde/stable/2.1/distribution/deb/dists/potato/main/binary-i386/)

but it laughed at me and told me it couldn't find packages.gz .... but if you go there, packages.gz is there...

so has anyone apt-got (past tense of apt-get?) KDE2.1?

[edit]
OK... was on slashdot and found that Debianplanet.org has an 'article' that says to add:

deb ftp://ftp.linux.ee/pub/kde.tdyc.com/debian/ potato main crypto optional qt1apps

to your /etc/apt/sources.list file I haven't tried it yet cuz Debian decided that I'm not allowed to boot into it... but I will later and I figured I'd post it for you all

Yeah, that should work, I was able to get it up and running fairly quickly yesterday.

You can find more mirrors at http://kde.tdyc.com or http://kde.debian.net

The problem with your source line is that "binary-i386"... you don't put that in your line.
Leave it something like this if you want to use that site...
http://ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/mirrors/kde/stable/2.1/distribution/deb potato main

Otherwise just go to http://kde.tdyc.com to find an appropriate source for your sources.list.
