I did a complete (FULL) install of Mandrake 9.2. Because of the setup I use here, I need Pine installed (which isn't an option in any Distro anymore (as far as I know) -- So I went and downloaded the latest RPM from their site.

When I tried installing it, here's the error I received:

Some package requested cannot be installed:
pico-4.58L-2.i686 (due to unsatisfied libtinfo.so.5)
do you agree ?

Since I installed every single package available on all three CD's, I figured I wouldn't have any dependency problems..

Any ideas?

Thank you :-)

Any ideas? Well, for starters: search your system for libtinfo.so.x libraries.
The packages that you have installed may not have needed it, or you may have a different version installed.

Try to use URPMI whenever possible to avoid dependency issues. Or just install Debian and use apt-get (JK, I had to pipe in with that). urpmi should be installed by default. Maybe even gurpmi for a gui version.

Lets make it simples shall we. First search for libtinfo.so.5 on your computer. If it's not there do a search for it on Google for Linux. If you can't find it your probably screw, but since it's needed you'll probably find it. Install it and try installing pine again.
