Aight... I wen't to slackware.com/getslack and I found a mirror... but there are four disks. Unlike mandrake, I don't think ALL of these disks are for installing slackware, actually I'm pretty sure of it. (unless Slackware decided to go uber bloatage from 9.0 to 9.1)

http://ftp.man.olsztyn.pl/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/slackware-9.1-iso/slackware-9.1-source-d4.iso

and

http://ftp.man.olsztyn.pl/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/slackware-9.1-iso/slackware-9.1-source-d3.iso

I'm almost certain I don't need (seeing as they say "source" I can only assume it's the source code for files in slackware... therefore, not requiered to install).

but there's another two:

http://ftp.man.olsztyn.pl/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/slackware-9.1-iso/slackware-9.1-install-d1.iso

and

http://ftp.man.olsztyn.pl/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/slackware-9.1-iso/slackware-9.1-install-d2.iso

Do I need both? You see... I don't want to download 1.3 Gigs of data just to realize that i only need the first disk. I know you might only NEED the first disk... but to make it a complete installation... should I get both? or is "d2" just some sort of "Documentation" disk of sorts? :p

EDIT: I realize the disks in question both say "install-" on them... I just want to make sure.

Unless I am missing something, I only though that there WERE 2 cd's for the entire slackware install; I have made at least 10 different slackware installs from only a 2 cd set... Try going to a different mirror, like planetmirror, for instance to get your iso images, because that is the first mirror listed that I have seen 4 different cd's available, all right?? ftp://ftp.planetmirror.com/pub/slackware/slackware-9.1-iso/slackware-9.1-install-d2.iso

You need the 2 install-cds, the others are sources that you don't probably want.

CDs? You don't need no stinkin CDs!!!

I haven't installed slack with CD's since they stop putting isos out on their website. Just download the packages you want and the correct boot images.

Installing slack this way is really easy and their tons of documentation on it, so I'll spare the details.

Sorry I can't hold up to your Linux installation "leetness". :p . I am but a simple n00b that used Linux for a month and un-installed it 'cuase I didn't have a worthy Video card. now that im stylin' with a Radeon 9700, I'll reap the benefits of linux (as soon as I buy WineX I'll be all set ;) ).

As for now... I'll stick to installing, what? 3 or 4 GIG's worth of stuff on my HD? Better safe than sorry. :D

soooo........ thanks. I left the ISO's dling over night. and will burn them right now. I hope it isn't an .ISO of "The Sims Online" or anything like that. ERR... umm... Thanks for the tips. :-) It's good to know you can always count on a friendly nerd here at "JustLinux".
