stupid windows...

i just installed Mandrake 8.1 onto my pre-configured partitions (i had red hat 7 on there before), but i can't boot any disk, cdroms or anything

it just bring up a black screen that says "Loading Floppy" when i select 'floppy' from lilo menu

could it be the version? i have had lilo work perfectly on that machine before, though i edited the lilo.conf manually

any suggestions? thanks :(

Maybe it's the 2.4 kernel which wants to boot of an initrd dir.

I had to add
initrd=/boot/initrd
to the image entry for my 2.4 kernel to make it boot
