no internet connection

I'm running 9.0. I have Win. 2000 and linux 9.0 on same hard drive. Win. 2000 connects to the internet fine with no problems. I did have 9.0 connected to the net with no problems but one day i went to use it and had no internet connection. Would anybody know why all of sudden i have no internet connection? Where should i start?

I have no idea what linux-9.0 is...Is it a kernel from the year 2049? Are you from the future? Or do you mean redhat9?

How do you connect? Cable modem, DSL, either shared via a router, modem, carrier pigeon?

If you have the command dhcpcd you can usually just run that to see if you can grab an IP off the DHCP server. As root: dhcpcd -d eth0
