KDE help

I just installed SuSE onto my computer. When I type kde at the command line i get a list of errors saying various things cannot connect to x server. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

kde should start when you start up the X server.

if it's already started and you are trying to start it from another TTY - try switching to tty 7 (alt-F7)
