I am looking for some recommendations on software for Linux that I can use for basic accounting purposes, and integrated or separate a program that can generate invoices. I have looked at freshmeat and sourceforge for a little while and nothing seems to be really standing out. Also I use KDE as my window manager if that matters. And I am NOT looking for a web based example necessarily, I noticed lots of those and the computer I'm using will not always have an available internet connection.

Thanks
Michael

A little Google-ing turned up these two in the first three or four results. I didn't really take the time to look at them too much, but they did both have eval versions, I believe.

FoxOnLinux (http://203.29.74.219/fox/index_html)

LinuxCanada (http://www.linuxcanada.com/)

Yes google does do wonders, but I've never used any of these programs personally before, hence me looking for RECOMMENDATIONS. Thanks for all the info anyway...

I'll probably look into NOLA and GnuCash.

I find that to be part of the beauty of free software. You dont really need to spend a great deal of time looking and asking around for which is the best software. Nobody will ever be able to give you the correct answer, because your needs are different that everyone elses, and you skill level is a little different too. So the best bet is often to just download it and give it a shot. If you dont like it, then trash it and try something else. You arent paying for any of it, so what's the harm in trying everything?
