just installed RH6.0 and.....

I'm getting two warning windows(for lack of a better term) One says "no response to the SaveYourself command. The program may be slow, stopped or broken. You may wait for it to respond or remove it." Below there is an option to remove program. The other message says "you are running the GNOME File Manager as root. As root, you can damage your system, and the File Manager will not stop you....."

1st question: What do these warnings mean?

2nd question: How do I create a user profile so I'm not always SU?

The Gnome File Manager is not stable yet and therefore you're advised not to use this manager when being root (SU).
There's should be another filemanager for Gnome, but I forgot which one.


That's what the 2nd message means.

In an Xterm you can type:

adduser username

Then a new user will be "registered"
