Apache Users / Webmstr

How should I set up my Ower and Groups for Apache to work right.
Right now the webmasters user name is webmstr he is the owner and the group of the folder /var/www. The problem is i have to have the permissions for /var/www set to:
drwxrwxrwx 14 webmstr webmstr 4096 Feb 27 17:43 www/
In order for the public to see it and I think that mains something is wrong. Maybe apache should be the group or something. Thanx In Advance

yes. that is definately very wrong. The way you have it anyone can put their trash in your www/ dir.

chmod o-w www/ will fix that and you're all set.
