I use Gnome with Sawfish and in the sawfish configuration i have it set to have 2 workspaces with edge flipping enabled.. I see in Sawfish config that i can have different background for each workspace.. but it doesn't work when i use gnome with sawfish.. sawfish by itself it works. In the gnomecc i unchecked use gnome to set background but still doesn't work.. any suggestions???
thanks in advance

Found out it is Nautilus that is forcing the background... Is there a way to configure Nautilus to not have a background? or atleast not override sawfish background?

I messed with that until I decided it just couldn't (yet) be done. You can, of course, cut off Nautilus's management of your desktop, and let Gnome do it with gmc, as is the normal. That will allow what we are both looking for, but for me, the price was too high, I wanted Nautilus desktop management back, and just setlled for the same background on all the virtuals. The Nautilus developers hang out at the gnome irc server, let's both bug 'em about it. :)) Ray
