Hi all,

I just found out that SuSE includes a "tool" that aids in the installation of some Microsoft truetype fonts. If you run 'fetchmsttfonts' from a command line, it will take you to the MS site and download the fonts. The only problem that I'm having is that it opens the site in a text browser and I have no idea how to navigate a text browser. I think it's using lynx to navigate to the site.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi, this work for me using suse 7.1. If you dual boot with windows you can copy the truetype fonts from windows dir to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype

Then in a terminal window as root:

ttmkfdir >fonts.dir

Then run SuSEconfig and the truetype fonts will be available in linux.

I have not tried the method you mentioned. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I'm not dual-booting with Windows but I do have the fonts copied to a zip disk. I did what you suggested and it worked. Thanks a lot for the help!
