Ive downloaded a package which is not RPM or TAR. It loads itself to my browser. I mean I use Opera to download and all I get is text on the screen. What is this can someone tell me what to do here. I really like the look of the package so I want to install.
Thanks

I just installed linux yesterday but I believe I can answer your question. When you click on the link to download the file, rather than clicking on it, right click and select "Save Link As..." or hold down the shift key and click on the link. I hope I answered this right. :)

Try http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/ to find right rpm for your distro.

Got a link here (http://www.execpc.com/~bgkuhn/linux/upgrade_to_rpm_4.html) for upgrading to rpm4. Has to be a easier way to upgrade rpm and the procedures look a little intense.
