File System Corrupted !!!

Hi All,

After a power failure my file system corrupted. The following are error messages.

/dev/sda1 file system corrupted.
Press Ctrl-D for safe mode.

I'll get prompt after giving password. But no other user can access my server(ping).

Plz help me.

I am a Linux newbie.

When you are in safe mode, try running a fsck on the disk

fsck /dev/sda1

Should fix the errors in the file system
