 I am almost ashamed to ask, but having never installed/used Linux before, I know you will understand.

I have just partitioned my drive for a Win98/DOS/2K/Linux boot system using GRUB. It is as follows:

10M - 2k Boot
100M - DOS
3.5G - 98
3.5G - 2K
1024M - Linux EXT2
150M - Linux Swap

I also Have a second Drive for Common Files etc. it should be out of the equasion. Anyway, my point is, When I start the Linux Install (Boot from CD-ROM Red Hat 6.0) (Custom) I need to know where to put /boot and /root to continue with the install. Everywhere I have looked seems to assume I already know this, which obviously, I don't. Any help is greaty appreciated.

You could try to make your / (root) partition contain everything, Linux will work that way, however you may run into a problem with the /boot part. You might want to add a small (10MB...not sure how much you need)partition at the beginning of your drive for the /boot partition, which while installing youmount it at /boot.

you can just mount your linux partition at / and that will do it.

Good luck :)
