Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : reccomendation for a printer
Have not had a working printer on Linux yet. So I thought I would ask what yall use. Especially Debian as I need this to work "close to right out of the box". I have tried a Epson Stylus 500 and a HP Apollo and all I got was garbage anytime I turned it on, didn't even have to print anything to it. I did check and can find several of the ones listed as supported just need suggestions on the ease of install.
Thanks,
Mis

If you can't get your printfilter working "right", try downloading a copy of CUPS. I use this all the time now and it not only detects my printer (Epson 600) but sets up the colour correctly and lets you manage the thing across a LAN or locally via a GUI through Netscape.
Hope that helps!

Check out www.linuxprinting.org (http://www.linuxprinting.org) for tips on getting your printer(s) to work. They also have a list of recommended printers if you just want to buy a new one.
