Hi, i need to configure my ethernet card on my laptop. I have a pcmcia card. What do i type in the console to load the module? Also, what module do i need for it. If i dont need anything, what should i do to configure dsl?

Thanks

Oh that's simple.

No wait a minute. Now that I think about it, we may need to know the distro and version you are using and quite possibly the pcmcia card.

Anyone else here can help without more information?

If you've ever used Windows, you should know that every device has it's own driver/module. We really cannot help you unless you provide something for us to start with.

Since Mandrake 8.1 is quite new and Linksys is well supported, are you sure the pcmcia modules and support for the Linksys have not been loaded?

Does lsmod list any of those modules?

I have no idea what module that Linksys EtherFast pcmcia card would use. Anything at the Linksys or Mandrake site that could tell you?

the linkss card uses the NE2000 or the tulip drivers, I have read both of them in different places. Also, I have tried that but it still wouldn't detect my card when I inserted it.
I am running mandrake8.1 and have the same card as the guy above.

http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ (http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net) should have the information you need.
