Just installed Mandrake 7.2 for the fist time, and the installation seemed to go well, but when booting, if i choose Linux from the boot menu i get no farther than "system status: booting" message, which will stay on the screen until i manually reboot. If i choose "failsafe" (which I am assuming is similar to Safe Mode?) it boots into KDE, but the resolution is so bad i can't even make out most words. I tried to adjust every setting i could find with no results. I'm thinking this may be a product of choosing the wrong monitor during install, but i chose the most generic one i could find and also reinstalled choosing the correct monitor. So, why won't linux boot correctly?
