mouse wheel troubles, help please

I'm running Mandrake 7.1 and I think XFree86 4.0. I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. Is there any way to get the extra buttons working? I know I'm reaching but thougth I'd ask. My main question is 'How do I get the mouse wheel to work?'

Not sure with Xfree4.

Have you checked out the mouse configuration documentation at www.xfree86.org (http://www.xfree86.org) as they will have the suggested XF86Config setup and proper syntax for your particular mouse.

I got the wheel to work following this, but haven't got the extra buttons to work well..
