I recently upgraded from mozilla to firebird, and now i can't listen to this file - http://www.prairiehome.org/play/audio.php?media=/031101/031101_phc

When i try to open it with realplayer8 I get the error: "Some components are not available to provide playback of this presentation on your system." I tried using RealOne but got the same problem.

Any ideas?

Saw this in the Plugins & Firebird site:

Q: How do I install RealPlayer?

A: Install RealPlayer 8.0, and copy rpnp.so to your Firebird plugins directory.

Important! The RealPlayer plugin may not work with versions of Mozilla Firebird compiled with gcc 3.x. Bug 213234 lists an unsupported workaround. RealPlayer can be set up as a Helper Application if you can not use the Plugin - this may require the TTLO Extension.
Q: How do I install RealOne Player?

A: RealOne Player has been reported to work if the RealPlayer 8.0 plugin is installed, although this is not supported. The RealVideo 9 codec can be installed for RealPlayer 8.0 on Linux (more info), so RealOne Player is not required.

I read the bugzilla post but didn't understand what the workaround is.

I'm beginning to think that the problem is with firebird and php. Ihe php page is supposed to create a ram file but for some reason it's the php file that's being passed to realplayer. However i haven't had problems with any php pages on, for example, JL. Does this help?
