Hi,

When attempting to upgrade my RH9 install to Fedora core 1, right when it starts identifying packages to install I get this message:

"The arch of the release of Fedora Core you are upgrading appears to be athlon which does not match your previously installed arch of i386. This is not likely to succeed. Are you sure you want to continue this upgrade?"

Ok, so I never noticed an athlon dist of redhat or fedora... what does this mean?
Will it really bork my existing settings?

thanks,
Doug

well it seems like you got one for the wrong architecture, in other words you got fedora for an athlon CPU (processor) instead of a Pentium (i368). This will bork bork bork! your computer if you install it because its made for a different CPU.

If you have an Athlon this should be fine, if you do not...why are you getting this message? There is only 1 version of Fedora you can get, the i386 version, which should work with any (x86) computer made in the last 13 years...
