I'm trying to intall Linux on my new DRAGON mobo, but it doesnt matter what version of linux I try to install, the installation just doesnt see the RAID0 that my dragon offers. The raid on my system uses the Promise FastTrack/100. Hey!...I'm just another master of windoze who got tired out :o Any help is appreciated, Thx

This is wierd. I just finished reading the raid how-to about 5 minutes before I saw this post.
Here is the how-to section that talks about booting on raid:
4.11 Booting on RAID (http://http://www.linux.com/howto/Software-RAID-HOWTO-4.html#ss4.11)

Did your Howto describe how to set it up perfectly, and did it work? Cause yes I went to some Howtos here and there but no luck for me. btw I think your link to this howto is broken

The info in that Howto maybe simple but to a Linux newbie like me, there are things I don't get. Like in 4.11, it says that it is possible to boot from raid0 but it doesnt say how. And please take notice that I'm trying to install Iso's when I say the installation doesnt reconize my "raid0" system. I'm just about to let go here, I would like to try Linux but I can't even install it. Thanks anyway, your help didn't go unapreciated. Later Lucky dudes :)

That's for software raid. The guy was talking about hardware raid. Hardware raid should just require a driver in your kernel, and that should be it. (or at least that's what i think)

I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time and certainly not the last), but I thought Linux does not support hardware raid at this time and only supports software raid? I know there are options for raid 0-5 in the kernel.
Can anyone verify this?
