Hi guys.
When my wife wants to use the PC I have to close down my programs and log off. Is there anyway I can "Fast Switch" a la XP so she can log on without my session having to be closed down?

Stops me having to disrupt all my Gnutella downloading :-)

Phil.

I am using Debian unstable on my laptop and it has a Start New Session button that will bring up a new KDM session on vt8. I haven't seen this feature on Red Hat's version of KDE or on the Red Hat version you can download from kde.org, so it must be removed. There are ways to start 2 X sessions on system startup. There is a guide in the Just Linux Library. It is a little old, but it should work.

For whatever reason, I cannot post a link since it cuts the size down, but you can find it by clicking on the Library Button, X Window and then on Creating Multiple GDM Logins on a Single Workstation.
