I have two computers, on with redhat 9.0, and the other with XP and a cable modem for an internet connection. I added a second network card to the XP box and connected that to the linux box's network card with a cat5. The second network card in the XP box is connected to the cable modem which is connected to the internet. I bridged the two network devices in Win XP box as i assume you are supposed to do to share an internet connection. How do i get the linux box to connect to the internet through the XP box?

Actually, you don't need the Bridge Connections feature; just select the network connection icon for the card connected to the cable modem and enable Internet Connection Sharing, and then have the Linux box get its IP settings via DHCP.

when you install Redhat or Mandrake for that matter just select auto detection of the ip address.
