First place to look is always http://www.linuxprinting.org
Couldn't see a lot - double check the name as most Epson names have a name and then a model number (ie Epson Stylus 600)

couldnt find anything... however this is a epson all in one device, does that make a difference? the model is Epson 1000 ICS (integrated color system) it plugs into the USB drive, not a seriel or parrelel port, and Epsons website only has downloads for windows drivers :P

For anything printer related, I always check the manufacturers website, www.linuxprinting.org (which you have done both) and then G4L.
See if you can find anything in these G4L search results for 'Epson 1000 ICS' (http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Epson+1000+ICS&btnG=Google+Search) that help.
