I'm running Redhat 9 and have installed apt-get. I did the update and all that; then I selected to update Mozilla to 1.4

It downloaded the files and started the installation. During the installation, it hung. I let it sit there for 10 minutes with no screen or disk activity. I finally killed the process.

When I restart synaptic it displays the main screen and hangs. From a shell, I do:

apt-get update

It displays several "Hit http:///" and just hangs.

Anyone have an idea what I'm doing here?

Thanks!!!

Update!

It appears now that anytime I try and install an RPM it hangs.

I have to reinstall XFree86 because of some missing files. While installing the XFree86-libs-data file it gets to 8%, then hangs. There appears to be no activity.

Any help would be appreciated!

if it hung when it was installing something then it was rpm, not apt that hung.

Thanks for the response!

I just killed the process; rebooted and tried it again.
This time it went through with no probelms.
