ok... for some reason I can't get X windows running under a plain ol Debian install... but it'll work and set itself up on Progeny (a Debian spinoff) so what I was wondering... can I just copy my XF86Config file from my Projeny install to my Debian install? or is there other stuff that I need to fix with it?
Thanks,
Bill

As long as both are using the same version of XFree86... The file 'XF86Config' should be in your /etc, /etc/X11 or something like that. Do a find if you're not sure. Save it to a floppy and put in the new install's /etc directory. I do this when I do fresh installs on my laptop. Beats xfree86 --configure and hand tweaking. ;)
Debian puts the XF86Config(-4) in /etc
