Is there a way to have a progrom, say AIM, to show up as an icon by the clock (like in windows)? That way it wouldn't be in my taskbar taking up room.

If anyone could tell me how to do it, I would appreciate it.

PS I am running Redhat 7.1 and KDE

It can only be done by changing the source code.

If you're using KDE then the aim client has to be QT/KDE based for this to be a possibility. (not gtk etc.)

I don't use aim but there's probably a client out there that will do this, maybe this one? http://kinkatta.sourceforge.net
