I'd like to import some of my windows fonts (namely Verdana, Trebuchet MS) because the ones that came with SuSE are just... ugly. :) How can I go about doing this? Thanks!

This looks like a job for the "JustLinux Help File Library"!

Where are my True Type Fonts? (http://www.justlinux.com/nhf/Fonts/Where_Are_My_True_Type_Fonts.html)

*embarassed*... thanks. I'll give it a try after dinner and hopefully won't have any problems.

Don't know if you're using KDE or not but under KDE it is really simple. I just zipped up all the Windows fonts on my PC at work and then transferred them to my Linux PC at home. Unzip the fonts to a directory somewhere. In KDE you can select the menu and go to Settings >> Control Center. Then under System Administration select Font Installer. Click the Add button, select all of your TTF fonts and click Okay. Make sure all are selected, click Enable and Apply and then you should be good to go. You may have to restart X I'm not sure if I had to or not. Again, this only helps if you're using KDE but it's an easy way to get your Windows fonts on Linux. If you need the fonts I happen to have them still on my server. You can download the zip from: http://chaosprotocol.org/windows_fonts.zip

Ok, I got it to work! Sorta. Well, the fonts imported, as far as I know, correctly.. however in any KDE application (including changing fonts for KDE, Open Office, etc.) they don't show. Help? The only place theyshow up in is Galeon... any ideas? Thanks!

Oh yea - they appear pretty rough as well... can I smoothen them up some how?
