how to make WinXP visible from Linux?

I have newly installed MandrakeLinux9.1 and configured Samba so as to make the files visible from a WinXP machine. Now how can I configure the WinXP machine so that it is visible from the Linux machine. Any help wecome.

By default XP will automatically show on a network.
Make sure that you have the SMB Client setup in MDK.
Might help to put MDK in the same workgroup as the XP box.
Then from Konqueror type: smb:/
That should show all computers on network. You might have to reboot too, not sure how it picks up on broadcasts.

I have samba up and running on my linux machine. Now when type smb:/ in Konqueror it pops up a window "Cervisia does not support remote repositories." , and I cannot see my WinXP machine.
Does anyone knows what this means and how can I see my WinXP machine files from my Linux machine.

Konq is calling Cervisia, which is a CVS front-end. Unfortunately, this seems to be interfering with your network browsing. Try browsing without using Cervisia. How you do that I don't know; I haven't used Cervisia.

Unless you're doing software development, you shouldn't need Cervisia anyway.
