Hi,

Im having trouble installing adobe acrobat on Redhat lin 9
Whenever I try to run it I get this message

Warning: charset "UTF-8" not supported, using "ISO8859-1".
Aborted

Anyone know how to fix this? It gives the same error for root too

Edit /usr/local/Acrobat5/bin/acroread and add:

LANG=C

after install_dir=

I'm puzzeled...why is everyone wanting to install Acrobat all of a sudden? What is wrong with xpdf which is installed by default on most distros for the last couple years?
I've never had any problems with rendering or displaying, even the linked pages work fine...

So why is everyone wanting Adobe's Linux Acrobat Reader now?

Thanks Gertrude!
Can you explain what that does and why it was required?

Does anyone know what a good postscript viewer is?
