Mandrake 7.2 + AWE 64 users: Please help!

I can't get my sound card to work. I configured it using Hard Drak with the following parameters:
220, 5, 1, 5, 388.
It worked at first, but after I rebooted it didn't work anymore. I have tried using sndconfig and it will play the samples fine, but when I try to play an MP3 with XMMS, it whips through a six minute song in about 30 seconds without making any sound. When I try configuring with hard drak again, I get an error:
"sox:Invalid audio buffer size 0".


Are there any work-arounds for these problems? Please help

are u sure ur playing the music?
check in the settings whether the output is correct.
i use winamp to convert my mp3's to wav and it does it in about 30 seconds also.. since xmms is pretty much like winamp then that might be the case.
check the output and make sure that its set to oss or something thats right.. just play around with the output until one works.

I have XMMS running with OSS. I also tried esound, which I am sure is for enlightenment, and got an error. I think it's a deeper problem because KMP3 doesn't work either.
