I have a Seagate ST8000A TR4 tape that is connected via Promise Ultra100 TX2 controller under SuSE 8.1 Professional
The system is detecting the tape drive as /dev/hdf but I cannot access it for backup purposes - even Taper cannot find it.
Is there anyway I can dictate the /dev/ id of it? - I read somewhere that it should be reported as /dev/tape (or similar).
