I have CUPS installed on my Gentoo box and it works fine for printing regular documents from all machines on my home network. I recently emerged "cups-pdf" to enable .pdf printing support. I have everything configured properly, but there are some weird things happening; the only PDF documents I can print are the ones that I created on my machine via OpenOffice 1.1's export to PDF option. If I try to print a PDF document off the web via the AcroReader plugin for Firebird the file is sent to /var/spool/cups-pdf/ANONYMOUS but it is not printed. The cups access_log and error_log don't show anything out of the ordinary. Is there any way that I can alleviate this problem?
Cheers,
Jon

Here's an interesting point -- I just saved a PDF from the web to disk, then I opened it with Xpdf and used /usr/bin/lpr to print it and it worked just fine. Using the same process but trying to print via AcroReader yielded no results. This leads me to believe that there's an issue with the AcroRead plugin for Firebird that prohibits me from printing the PDFs. Has anyone experienced this/know of a workaround?
Thanks,
Jon

I was searching around on the Gentoo forums and I found some people who posted the same issue but found no resolution. Is this a user problem or a bug itself within AcroReader?
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Jon
