RH 9, RPM wont install mplayer-0.90-4.20030808.fr.i386.rpm

When using the RPM gui, a double click on the mplayer .rpm file starts the RPM doing its thing. Then it just goes away with no messages.

The install is not performed, no mplayer present. command line start indicates mplayer not found.

Whats my problem? .rpm file bad? Something mis-configured?

Hi;

The mplayer application has circular dependencies. All three programs must be installed from within the same command line. The mplayer web site gives the command verbatim. I'm not sure the RPM GUI program can do this--I haven't used it much.
