Hey all,
Using RedHat Linux 9 Publisher's Edition. It won't let me activate my modem. It says the wire isn't in the port, or something like that, but I've tried both ports and it still will not work. Is it possibly because I also have the Ethernet Cable Modem in there as well? We're going to route the cable modem upstairs and network the two computers in the house, one is on Windows and one is on Linux. If you need any other info to help, or if I didn't explain it properly, please e-mail me or private message me. I'm very deterred...Thanks.

just so I can understand your setup a little better you have both a cable and dial up modem connected to the same computer, but you want to use the dial up modem instead of the cable modem? or do you want to use both?

Right now, I have no choice but to use dialup because we haven't routed the cable upstairs yet. I don't know when we will, so until then, I need dialup. Any further clarification for anything, just ask. Thanks.

Are you using KDE or Gnome? Is your modem ISA or PCI?

ISA or PCI? Don't know...But I'm using GNOME. Right now I don't have KDE installed. I think it's PCI, but I'm not sure. Sorry, I don't know a whole lot about hardware...Thanks,
Zeke
