I have a Proview 786N Monitor that I want to use on my newly installed Gentoo Box. I've been installing X and don't know the horizontal and vertical frequency, refreshrates, etc. The Proview (http://www.proview.net/) website doesn't seem to be working correctly. If anybody here can access it, or perhaps owns one of these themselves could you please post it's specs for me. I'm anxious to get X installed...
The monitor is a 17" Flat Screen CRT Proview Monitor, Model Number 786N
Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

Unless another JL member has the exact same monitor and can post the specs, I would suggest you try searching www.google.com and/or www.google.com/linux for the monitor and model to find the specs.
I've done the same for other monitors.

I actually did try searching google.com and google.com/linux and even tried yahoo.com search beacause at this point, what the heck right?
No luck, there's no monitor that matches mine's specific description and the company website seems to be permanently out of commision :(
Guess that's why it was such a deal...

Is it Proview 786N or Proview 786 N as when I search Google for 786N it also displays 'do you mean Proview 786 N'.
Try both and see if you can find your monitor specs. If you can't try selecting 'generic monitor' and see if that works.
