Griffin USB iMic / RH9?

I've got a Griffin iMic left over from my Mac days, and like to use it for ease of switching between speakers and headphones. I did a fresh install of RH9 last night with the iMic hooked up and, while it recognized the device (in USB section of hwbrowser), it would not work and it caused an error on bootup related to audio.o. I removed it and rebooted and let Kudzu remove all traces of it. Then rebooted again with it plugged in: Kudzu found it, 6 times! And this time around audio.o loaded without any errors.
Any clue how to get this thing working? I know my sound card is configured fine and working, if I plug the speakers into the normal speaker jack I get sound.
