I have Windows XP and RedHat 9 installed on my machine and they are configured for dual-boot. my boot manager is Grub.
Well, after i updated my newly installed RedHat 9 via the RedHatNetwork, i noticed another OS (or another version of it) available for boot in the Grub menu.

1. RedHat 9 2.4.20-8
2. RedHat 9 2.4.20-20.9
3. Dos

does this mean i have the option of booting my old RedHat OS before it was updated?

it could be either that, or it could have just not removed the boot entry from GRUB. if you're curious, try booting into it and see what the effects are. if they're worthless to you, or nothing, then you can probably remove it easy with Red Hat.

They are different kernel versions.
