When I log on my server (debian / exim) it says "you have mail".
When I go to /var/spool/mail/ I see two files: myusername and root.

When I emacs both to see what they contain, they just contain very old message, nothing new. So why does it says I have new mail, and where can I find them ?

Thanks,
Donov

try typing "mail" at a command prompt, or perhaps pine

Yeah I get that. The trick is that it says 'you have mail'. Yep there is mail in the box. But if new mail arrives then it will say 'you have NEW mail'.

It will always say 'you have mail' as long as there mail in the inbox no matter how old it is. It took me about a year to figure this one out! :o :o
