yo,

i found a site (linuxiso.org) with 0-day linux progs, and it has iso images of debian gnu linux. however i looked all around the site and could not find any cd keyz, serialz, or info on crackz for any of the software there.

this debian iso image i am downloading, does it have copy protection? will i have to find a crack or serial# for it, or has the iso on the server already been cracked?

i know this board says not to ask for crackz or keyz; but i'm not asking for one; i'm just asking if i'll need one. i don't want to waste time looking for a serial on the reg sites and my ngs if i won't need one.

thx bunch, bros!!!

Hey bro,

I'd really love to help you out, but Debian has really started to crack down on piracy, and their copy protection has gotten tough. Debian has licensed the properietary license/registration system used by Microsoft for Windows XP. It's been tightened up quite a bit to require registrations via modem or the Internet after installation to make sure everyone using it has purchased a valid product key, and the package management system (apt) has also been patched to require re-payment of the license fee after each software upgrade.

It sucks, I know, but that's the kind of world we live in. You may want to give Slackware a try; they still have nothing but a simple CD-key authentication system (always lagging behind), and you can find Slackware serialz on any warez newsgroup. Just post a message saying "Need CD key for Slackware Linux" and somebody will tell you what you need to be told.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! Good luck with Linux!

Funny Craig. :) To answer the question, there is no need for any CD keys for Linux because Linux is free. You won't be asked to pay cash, you won't be asked to give your address, you won't be asked to even thank the developers.

I am shocked and alarmed by your shocking accusations. I will not tolerate such alarming statements. There is no way to convey how shocked and alarmed I am by what you say, but if I were to try, the two words I would use would be shocked and alarmed.

I am shocked that you would accuse me of such things. I am alarmed and shocked.

Sorry Craig- you can be shocked OR alarmed, but NOT both, OK?

As much as I try to contain my shock and alarmament (you may think that alarmament is not a word, but if the President can make up words, so can I), I still find myself both in a state of shock and a state of alarm. I am so very, very alarmed that I am shocked by how alarmed I am. It is truly alarming.

Dude, that's so l4m3. Linux 8 is where it's at now. It's on all the good 0-day warez sites, like sunsite.unc.edu and kernel.org.

Well that's nothing Craig: I am shocked, alarmed and speechless. I mean, I'm TOTALLY speechless ! How can something so shocking like that can happen and not alarm people? I am speechless. I truely am speechless about this. How did we manage to get lower than rock bottom? There's no way to describe the shock and the alarmament that hundreds of billions have suffered! I am SO speechless I can barely contain my shock. This is why I urge to alarm the shocked and speechless users out there to do what's right: upgrade to vim 6.0aw!

The serialz key is: G628S-28SJ2-B3BJJ-2798W-2019A
