Ok. So, I installed the Radeon drivers with no apparently fatal errors. When I go to System Settings > Display I no longer have Vesa generic as my video card and vesa as my drivers.

I now have Unknown Video Card and fglrx as the drivers (fglrx seems right, it was in the filename of the rpm).

Unfortunately, I'm paranoid, and so, is there a way that I can 'see' that my video card drivers are working properly? Or, is the above a good enough indication, and do I need to stop complaining? (^o^)

Thanks in advance!

LOL.
Good point.
Only, I don't have CS.

I guess I could try my hand at installing NWN..... *shiver*

Edit: Bang! That idea has been shot down. Not nearly enough space on my Linux drive. :(

Guess it's time to use the other hard drive I have, and start installing LFS. :D

Or, one of:

chromium
glxgears (if the framerate that it prints every 5 seconds is >1000fps, you're good)
Cube (www.cube3d.net I think)

glxinfo | grep direct is usually also a good test. If it says "direct rendering: yes", then you're most likely OK. If it says "no", then you're not OK.
