Monitor Problem, Mandrake 8.1 KDE2.2

Heya, first off lemme say that I am the complete Linux n00b.
I had it installed for me by my friends bro, at his office. Problem is, we used a differnet monitor than I use here at home..

Linux boots up normally, but when its time to hit the login screen, the screen goes black. Anyone know what I can do?
