Actually after reading, it doesn't replace "Windows" itself, but apps possibly? A bit hard to tell. Will have to research into it more. :-) Interesting article though. Wonder if it will catch on or get lost in the Microsoft "black hole."

Well MadHatter is a Linux distribution, so technically, it is meant to be a Windows replacement. Sun is also providing apps with it that work with popular MS services (such as Exchange), but unless they're Java based, I doubt they'll run in Windows.

Ya...found that after reading more about it. Liked the "-- In a move aimed squarely at Microsoft Corp...." part. :-)

Husband keeps having issues and whining about MS. Told him one more complaint and I was slapping Linux on his PC. LOL...The look on his face was priceless. He's getting better now though, because I keep showing him things coming out in the press that shows Linux isn't just "shareware", "some free hacker program", and "No, it isn't illegal." I heard all 3 of those just this week. As well as some college kid telling me I couldn't use Linux "coz I'm a girl." More articles about Linux coming up on MS seems to help. At least in my circle where people need "proof" it's legit as an OS.
