I have Red Hat 9 and whenver I open Mozilla Firebird first, then try to open Mozilla, it just opens another Mozilla Firebird window. How can I fix this?

I have Mozilla 1.2.1 and Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1

If I upgrade Mozilla will it fix this problem?

Not much help, but a show of support.... I have seen this problem under Mandrake as well.

However, I believe that the reason I had this problem is because I installed a compiled RPM from the texstar repository.

Not to say anything bad about texstar, it's a good repository-- my belief is that either compiling Firebird from source or using a compiled binary that installs to the "normal" location for the distro creates this conflict with Mozilla.

I don't remember if upgrading Mozilla solved it-- iirc, it made it possible to use Mozilla again, but impossible to use Firebird.

My solution is to use Firebird nightlies extracted to my home directory. Firebird runs fine, and since it's not "installed" Mozilla doesn't even know it's there.

I don't use Mozilla that much anymore, though, as I really like Firebird, despite its growing pains.
